This marvellous aerial photograph of the Things Va site looking south west was taken by Bobby Friel from Take the High View. The sheer size of the structure can be judged by the size of the houses in the background. The photograph, taken on one of those still days that are so rare in northern Scotland, clearly shows the possible ditch and characteristic mound associated with brochs in this part of the world.
I had an amazing day in and about the trenches. It was a great opportunity and I look forward to doing it all over again.
