The children had a great time. The whole festival of archaeology had a family feel to it with volunteers and archaeologists bringing their kids along...sometimes to help, sometimes just to run around and be noisy in a new field.

At Thusater Burn the children had their own little trench and explored the idea that as an adult you can continue to dig in the dirt for a job. The photograph shows the day beginning at Bruan Broch as the grid is laid out for the forthcoming survey.
A great day. Thoroughly enjoyed digging in the trench. Friendly folk. Looking forward to coming back tomorrow. Thanks for the opportunity.
